clearance certificate

I'd obtained the first signature on my clearance cert! Yes!!

Had my dental ffi today. Not sure what does ffi stands for. All that matters is that it signifies me soon becoming of an ord personnel. Such excitement!!

Drew blood for HIV test today too. I wonder why is it specifically HIV and not some other tests like for blood count or HepB? Hmm.. Anyways, there is much to comment about the process of drawing of blood. The medic who drew my blood was an ojt! I assured myself that he passed out from medic school and so he must be proficient. The medic was a pleasant guy but the whole experience was nerve-wrecking.

I did so many blood tests before and never did the nurses drawing my blood complain about not being able to locate my vein. The medic told the senior medic that my veins were not very visible. And he was unsure in which direction and angle should the syringe be poked into the vein. I almost peng!

When the syringe finally sank into the skin, I turned my head to look at it. The syringe was not drawing blood. That sucked! I turned away and the medic gaw deeper. o.0

When it was done, or i supposed, the medic tried to untie the glove that he tied on my arm earlier. He did so with the syringe still in my skin. He fidgetted and so did the syringe. I panicked worrying that the needle might break!! *shivers*

And that medic told me the worst thing i'd ever heard after drawing blood. He told me to press onto the gauze over the puncture hard when the needle was removed to prevent myself from being "spiderman". And that meant that my blood might spew out of my arm if i do not do as told.

Although it was a terrible experience, the medic redeemed himself. He talked to me. And lucky me that the senior medic was around. He was the one who really talked to me and tried to distract me from the blood drawing.

Oh i digressed.

The signing of my cert shall resume after my last duty this sunday. =)

28 days to ord
